Visordown, one of the largest motorcycling media platforms in the world, is seeking a motivated and experienced Deputy Editor to join our editorial team. The Deputy Editor will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and integrity of our bike-related content. You will work closely with the Editor to oversee daily operations, manage contributors, and ensure that our articles engage and inform our audience of motorcycle enthusiasts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Editor to develop and execute the editorial strategy that aligns with Visordown's mission and goals.
- Oversee the content calendar and ensure that articles are published on schedule.
- Edit and proofread articles for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to editorial standards.
- Manage a team of writers and contributors, providing guidance and feedback to enhance their work.
- Conduct research and interviews to produce high-quality articles, features, and reviews.
- Stay updated on industry trends, news, and events to ensure our content is relevant and timely.
- Assist in managing social media channels and other platforms to promote content.
- Engage with the community through comments, forums, and social media to foster reader relationships.
- Support the Editor in performance analysis and audience engagement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a journalism or editorial role, preferably within the automotive or motorcycle sector.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Extremely knowledgeable on SEO best practices and analytics tools.
- Passion for motorcycles and a strong understanding of the riding community.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide constructive feedback.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field preferred.
Location: Hybrid (Office 2-3 days a week from our London or Peterborough)
Salary range: Up to £35-£45k (depending on experience) + benefits
